Heathrow Consultation Hub

We are pleased to announce that Heathrow will be holding two consultations in 2019: the first on airspace change and future operations at an expanded Heathrow in January and the second on our preferred masterplan for Heathrow expansion, including the physical infrastructure changes and how we will manage the effects of our growth at the airport.

We can confirm that the first of these consultations – our Airspace and Future Operations Consultation – will take place between the 8th January – 4th March 2019.

Through this consultation we will be seeking feedback on:

    • Airspace design for our current two-runway airport. We will be seeking feedback on the design envelopes for new arrival routes for our two-runway airport, with the introduction of Independent Parallel Approaches.
    • Airspace design for an expanded Heathrow. Following Stage 1 consultation on design principles earlier this year, we will also be seeking feedback on the design envelopes for three runways at Heathrow.
    • How we will operate a three runway airport. Operating three runways will be different to operating two runways, and we will be seeking feedback on a number of elements such as directional preference, night flights, and runway alternation.
